Who are
our Friends with disabilities?

Our Friends are adults (18 and over) with mild disabilities who do many
things very well! They tell jokes, laugh at your jokes and appreciate
art, drama or sports. Their disabilities dont affect their ability
to have fun with a friend like you.
What kinds of programs are available?

We offer two programs, Friend2Friend Community & Friend2Friend MAGIC. The Friend2Friend
program matches volunteers with adults who have mild disabilities in one-to-one
friendships. You and your friend do fun things in the community that you
both enjoy. Those participating in Friend2Friend MAGIC (Monthly Activity
Groups In the Communtiy) get to know each other at monthly, pre-planned
group activities at different venues througout the community. Both programs
are designed to foster meaningful and fun friendships.
What types of activities do we share together?

Whatever your interests, you can share them together! We help you discover
things to do and places to go around town. We send out a weekly email
highlighting happenings and events around Boston and Massachusetts. From
time to time, we also have tickets to the theater, movies, museums and
sporting events. We plan a number of group events throughout the year,
like Hanukkah parties, Passover Seders and bowling events. MAGIC matches
have fun eating out, bowling, enjoying pizza and game night as well as
other seasonal activities. We want to make it as easy as we can for you
to do fun things together!
What happens when I have questions?

A staff person is always available to answer any of your questions; offer
advice; or be of support.
How do I become a volunteer?

Submit an Application: Submit an on-line
application and we will contact you within the next few days.

Schedule an Interview: A member of our
professional staff will contact you to set up a time to meet and discuss
your background, interests and hobbies. We will also ask you about what
you are looking for in your match with a potential "Friend."

Give a call - it's easy!:
Its a wonderful and fun opportunity to learn more about the program
and to get general information about disabilities.

Become a "Friend": After
you have successfully completed the above three steps, a member of our
professional staff will contact you to tell you about a potential Friend
who shares common interests, hobbies and lives nearby. If you agree
its time to set a match date! On your match day, you and a staff
member will visit your new Friends home to get acquainted. You are
now ready to have fun! From then on, we provide support for you during
the length of your match.
