Who
are our Littles and their families?

Our Little Brothers and Little Sisters range in age from 6-18 years old.
They can be:

Children from Single Parent Families
Children from families new to
the United States
Children with disablities
Children in other special circumstances

All our children have a few things in common.
They all want an older friend to talk to; someone to spend time with;
a friend they can have fun doing things with. They live in communities
throughout Greater Boston and are matched with Big Brothers and Big Sisters
who live near to them.
What are the benefits of having a Big Brother or Big Sister?

Having a Big Brother or Big Sister gives a child the one-to-one friendship
of another caring adult. We match each child with an adult who has similar
interests, so they have lots in common from the start. Perhaps they are
both movie buffs, or love playing soccer, or really enjoy making art projects...
Whatever their interests, they can have a good time sharing them together.
The fun times matches spend together gives children the individual attention
that helps them feel special. For many children, this relationship helps
increase their self-confidence, improve their interpersonal relationships
and enhance their performance in school.
Having a Big Brother or Big Sister for your child is also beneficial for
you. It lets you take some well-deserved time for yourself. And most important,
it allows you peace of mind, knowing another caring adult is spending
time with your child.
