Temporary DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION ASSISTANT Position
 
 
Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston (Newton based), a not for profit social service agency provides the highest quality volunteer mentoring to children and adults with disabilities. We are seeking a detail-oriented Development Associate on a temporary basis who can support our Development Department.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
-                    Maintain the integrity of the donor software (Raisers Edge and Kintera)to ensure accurate and current information for each donor
-                    Post gifts in a timely manner and to the correct campaign/fund/appeal
-                    Prepare and distribute reports and correspondence in a timely manner
-                    Support, in coordination with the VP of Development, the agency’s major fund raising events (Anniversary Brunch and Gala).  
-                    Provide administrative support to the CEO/President and Vice President of Development.
 
This position reports during this temporary period to the Vice President of Development.
 
Requirements:
-                    A firm requirement is to have demonstrable skills and knowledge of Raiser’s Edge (the leading fundraising software for nonprofit organization).
-                    Must be highly professional and discrete in communication of information and working with donors.
-                    Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Email) and Publisher.
-                    Ability to answer Agency’s telephones ensuring first rate customer service (to volunteers, client families, donors), timeliness and accuracy.
-                    Work effectively as a self-starter and as a team player
-                    Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Very strong attention to detail.
-                    Bachelor’s degree required.
 
This temporary position is a 35 hour per week position (7 hours paid and 1 hour unpaid for lunch) for a period of approximately 3 months starting on or around November 30, 2009. Hourly compensation is $20 per hour. The position is not eligible for vacation, holiday or sick time. There is also no eligibility for medical or dental insurance.
