It’s that time of year when so many of us reevaluate, recommit, resolve.
At JBBBS, we resolve to continue to do our part to forge strong, sustainable matches.
To that end, every Friday, we share stories from and of interest to our Friend 2 Friend participants, prospective and current volunteers, alums and families.
At 51, Larry – a Brookline native – is social and friendly. Notes his Friend 2 Friend caseworker, “This is a man who cares about kindness. He’s genuinely nice – and expects others to follow suit.” He’s a Boston sports fan, enjoys 80s music and exploring cultural venues in and around Boston.
Larry has learning disabilities and anxiety which, he says, has made forging new friendships a challenge. He turned to JBBBS’ Friend 2 Friend program for support.
With his future match, he looks forward to getting out on the town, enjoying some lunch or live music and having good conversation.

Sam’s strengths are his independent living skills, his ability to be an effective communicator, and his support system. Sam had terrific follow through in inquiring, arranging and showing up for appointments, speaking to his desire to receive service.
