Reporting to, and in partnership with the President/CEO, the Director of Programs is responsible for leading mentoring programs for children, as well as adults with disabilities; this includes: (1) quality assurance to maximize safety of participants; (2) management and mentoring of program staff; and (3) evolution and innovation of mentoring programs. The Director of Programs is a key member of the agency’s Senior Team.

- Clinical Oversight
- Responsible for ensuring child and client safety is the top priority of the agency
- Oversee JBBBS’ compliance with National BBBSA program standards
- Ensure agency compliance with all relevant mandatory reporting requirements
- Identify staff and volunteer training needs, along with other team members
- Staff the Programs-related committee(s) of the Board
- Liaison with other social service and communal agencies
- Maintain a small caseload (5-10 matches)
- Strategic Direction
- Champion the priorities set forth in the agency strategic plan, namely: (1) Evolve and innovate program; (2) Engage more people in the work of JBBBS; (3) Build strong partnerships and (4) Demonstrate commitment to inclusion in everything we do
- Design and launch new programs and models to implement the strategic priorities
- Work closely with all members of Senior Team to identify and execute on new opportunities
- Staff Supervision
- Oversee programs staff
- Directly supervise Director of Programs for Adults with Disabilities; Assistant Director of Children’s Program and Co-Supervise Outreach Manager
- Ensure professional development opportunities for staff
- Program Management
- Oversee agency efforts to holistically support children/families/clients through providing financial assistance, camp and college scholarship and referrals to other social service agencies, as needed.
- Masters degree in human service field required
- 5+ years experience working with programs for children/families and adults with disabilities preferred
- Knowledge of Boston-area Jewish community a plus
- Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
- Comfortable with innovation and change efforts
He/She performs many of his/her essential functions indoors in a small office environment or, in the field, interacting with families/clients, partners and volunteers at one-on-one, community meetings and special events hosted in the larger Boston community
