Harrison Beck is no stranger to the stage – or to Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters. The alumni Little Brother is slated to emcee the organization’s 97th Annual Gala at the House of Blues on April 1. Straight from the source, here’s how come you shouldn’t miss it:
I am so excited for the opportunity to MC this year’s gala, and as a former Little Brother in the program, the occasion is especially sweet. I’m currently a busy actor and music director living in New York City, but when I first met my Big Brother, Derek, I was a shy fifth grader being raised by a single mom in Brookline.
As an artist, I’m hyper-aware of what I bring to the table for each project I do. When I was asked to MC this gala, I started reflecting on how much of what I bring to my work every day I can trace back to JBBBS: the confidence to lead a rehearsal, the inspiration to do this work…even some of my career-defining mentors. All of these I can trace back to experiences I had at JBBBS.
