Jim MorrisonDid you know that one of our very best volunteer recruitment strategies involves the good people we already know? That’s right, you: our alums, current volunteers and participants. You are our very best spokespeople! Not only do you know our programs so well, but also you understand firsthand how special they are! So we hope you’ll help us spread the word this “Friend 2 Friend Friday” about one young woman on our roster who’s been waiting over a year for a match.

Helen, 27, is awaiting a match in our program for adults with disabilities. She lives in Framingham, attends a local day program and says, most of all, she enjoys cooking with her mom. She’s active and sporty, loves hockey and gymnastics, dancing and skating.

Helen has a mild developmental delay. She says this has made it challenging to make new friends – particularly outside the disabilities community.

Helen’s ideal match: A woman about her age interested in “hanging out like friends do,” playing sports and going to the movies.
