When Cape Cod native, Joele Zeger, visited JBBBS for an informational interview this summer, she couldn’t have imagined it would lead to a position on the team. But it did. And now, this newly-minted social worker is managing a full case load in the Children’s Program.

What’s been your favorite JBBBS experience to date?

It’s hard to pick just one! Some of my favorite moments have been meeting our matches in-person, such as at the pumpkin-picking match event. It was so nice to see matches enjoying a fun, fall activity together.

Why do you care, personally, about mentoring-friendships?

They add immense value to children’s lives.

Who’s your mentor? Why is (s)he so special?

My mentor is my mother, who’s emulated “having it all.” She’s raised our family, runs a successful business side-by-side with my father, and all while giving back to our community in various settings. And she made it look so easy!

What’s your favorite read?

The Goldfinch.
