Those of us in the Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters community – participants, volunteers, staff, board and other supporters – understand it’s a special place. Of course there’s mentoring. Of course there’s friendship. Also, though, there’s the plethora of ancillary services JBBBS provides to qualifying individuals and families. What we do here matters – often for years.
This is Big. Take, for instance, this excerpt from an essay by an Alumni Little Sister, reflecting on the importance of her relationship with her Big Sister and Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters.
“My sense of fellowship and happiness has only grown stronger for being a part of this organization. I am so grateful to continue the relationships that JBBBS has afforded me. My Big Sister is still a big part of my life and will continue to be so in the future. We have been able to meet this summer and I love spending time with her. She is one of my go-to people. When it comes to advice I can always count on her to give me her best thoughts. She continues to enlighten me and provide me with a ton of support.”
If you agree that this is a special place, if you can appreciate the importance of friendships that last for years and even when they don’t often have a long-lasting impact… we hope you’ll show our Ride team your support. Our partnership with the Rodman Ride for Kids is pretty special, too – and you can learn more about it right here. Ride with us this fall or donate to Team JBBBS and help support the programs that matter to so many.
