Blog-Kathlee-and-I-Hsien-Wedding-24Of course Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters is a leader in the mentoring movement. We bring people together. You already knew that. But did you know that we’re also a little bit famous (if we do say so ourselves) for the pens we make available as agency swag?  True. We get requests for those pens all the time. (You know the pens! The ones we use at match meetings, board meetings, community events? Those.) There are various opinions about why they’re so amazing (among them: they’re sturdy and they write well), but the consensus is clear: Most of us who’ve gotten a grip on one – including those of us who don’t have strong opinions about pens – have favorable opinions about these.

So we loved this little story from social worker, Joele Zeger, about the way we (er, our pen!) brought two people together – in matrimony. Seriously.

Congrats to Kathleen Edison and I-Hsien Sherwood, from all of us at JBBBS!

Two weekends ago, my mother—a loyal, detail-oriented JBBBS fan, officiated my cousin’s wedding. As part of the ceremony, all parties involved had to sign the marriage license in black ink. When the time came, a JBBBS pen was pulled from her pulpit and the deal was sealed.
