JBBBS community,

It is with a heavy heart that we let you know that our dear friend and community philanthropist, Don Rodman passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, August 27th.

JBBBS has been involved with the Rodman Ride for Kids for many years. Many in our community had strong ties to Don and his passion for philanthropy. Don had a very special relationship with so many, a true mensch in every sense of the word. He drew upon his humble upbringing and made a life-long commitment to bettering the lives of kids. He founded the Rodman Ride for Kids in 1991 and, since then, raised more than $150 million for our community’s most vulnerable children.

Don liked to explain to people that to be a real philanthropist, you have to do more than just give; you must inspire others to give as well. Through his decades of work on countless boards and committees, and nearly 30 years of running his own charitable organization, Don influenced more giving than we can imagine. He was a fundraising pioneer who valued collaboration before it was fashionable. He was a friend, role model, and mentor to so many of us.

We send our heartfelt condolences to the entire Rodman family.
