Friends of JBBBS:

Mentoring is something that has impacted many of us. We have had a parent who encouraged us, a teacher who pushed us, or a friend who supported us when we needed it most. They are a hand that guides us forward, that helps us up when we fall.

It is for that reason we have decided to support Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston, and we hope you’ll join us on April 1 at the House of Blues for our annual gala. To be honest, we totally lucked out when we were asked to co-chair this event: It’s not only one of the most fun events of the year, but it’s also a great opportunity to support an incredible cause. We got the best hosting gig ever!

This year, Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston has supported over 500 matches across its 1:1 mentoring programs for children and its friendship programs for adults who have disabilities. Bigs and Littles and Friend 2 Friend matches have formed amazing bonds, sometimes life-changing bonds. That’s BIG. The JBBBS organization and those relationships have impacted each of us, and whether you want to become a mentor yourself or simply want to show your support, the gala is an incredible opportunity to celebrate the impact the organization has had on the Greater Boston community.

We hope you can make it to the gala; beyond supporting this organization that does such concrete good work, it’s going to be a great party. And if you can’t attend, there are plenty of other ways you can help propel us toward the next 500 matches, because no one stands so tall as when he or she bends to help another.
