Barry obtained his B.S. as a double major in Psychology and Spanish from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania. While attending Allegheny, Barry was a varsity track and field athlete and a Global Citizen Scholar, a student-run and faculty-guided cohort focused on using international perspectives to solve local issues. This gave Barry the opportunity to study abroad and conduct several volunteer opportunities and workshops centered around refugees and asylum seekers.

After graduating from Allegheny, Barry worked briefly as an English teacher in China before pursuing his passion of children’s mental health. He began working as a mental health counselor at Salem Hospital’s Epstein Center for Behavioral Health. It was here that Barry embraced trauma-informed care and the communications skills that he continues to use as a clinical match specialist.

In his free time, Barry keeps himself busy with his many interests. He enjoys baking, reading fiction and playing volleyball. Barry also collects trading cards, jewelry and watches.
