Development Associate
Summary:
The Development Associate will be an integral member of Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters (JBBBS) Development Team. The role will assist with increasing visibility, impact, and financial resources. The Development Associate will contribute to the mission of JBBBS by creating capacity to build and strengthen relationships with individual and corporate donors, foundations and partners, and the community at large.
The Development Associate will also manage and solicit a personal portfolio of donors. The Development Associate will report to the Director of Philanthropy, and work on special projects with the CEO, Director of Operations/Marketing, and other members within the organization.
Responsibilities:
Donor Relations and Stewardship
- Manages, stewards, and solicits a personal portfolio of community level and mid-tier donors.
- Collaborates with the Director of Philanthropy to secure financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
- Designs and implements a new monthly giving program.
- Contributes to donor solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship projects.
- Leads the annual appeal process in conjunction with the Development Team.
Event Management
- Leads specific donor events including the Big Brunch.
- Supports all phases of the development process including strategy, planning, budget, and execution of all Development Events.
Grant and Administrative Support
Manages the master grant calendar to ensure all deadlines for proposals and reports are met.
Coordinates with the outside grant writer by providing necessary JBBBS collateral and internal data.
Tracks the progress of pending applications and maintains organized records of all grant related communications.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None.
Qualifications Include:
- The ideal applicant will be highly organized with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others.
- Must be a selfless team player and possess a positive attitude.
- Bachelor’s degree and 2- 3 years of fundraising experience preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and comfortable interacting with donors and volunteers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with databases is strongly preferred, general comfort with technology required.
- Flexibility for occasional work outside of normal business hours for events and programs.
Physical Requirements and Working Environment:
- Required to sit at a workstation/computer and keyboard for extended periods of time.
- This role is performed in a hybrid remote/ office environment. The noise level in this setting is usually quiet to moderate (i.e., business office with computers, phones, and printers, etc.). Office space is shared with some shared offices and/or shared desk spaces.
- Working some nights and weekends is anticipated. No work travel is anticipated.

BENEFITS PACKAGE: Comprehensive Benefits Package is available
TYPE: 35 Hour per week Full Time
Salary: $60,000-$70,000 (based on experience) plus benefits
