Supporting Educational and Enrichment Opportunities
Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters offers scholarship opportunities to help eligible participants access summer camp and higher education. These scholarships are made possible through the generosity of donors who believe in the long-term growth and success of our community.
Below is an overview of the three scholarship programs we administer. Please review eligibility carefully to determine which opportunity may be right for you.

JBBBS Camp Scholarships
Camp scholarships are available to children currently participating in an active JBBBS match. These need-based awards are designed to support meaningful summer experiences.
Eligibility
- Child must be in an active JBBBS match
- Child must be under age 18 as of June 1, 2026
- Application must be completed in full
- Limited financial information is required
Application Requirements
- Personal statement
- Official invoice from camp showing proof of registration and amount due
Important to Know
- Awards are needs-based
- Funding amounts vary each year and are determined by available funds
- Applications are reviewed by a scholarship committee
- A completed application is required each year
- No interview is required
- Payment is made directly to the camp (expected by May 6, pending documentation)

JBBBS College Scholarships
JBBBS College Scholarships support current and former Littles pursuing higher education full time at accredited two- or four-year institutions that are FAFSA eligible.
Eligibility
- Current or former Little
- Matched with JBBBS for at least one consecutive year or who are participants in the JBBBS College Mentoring Program
- Enrolled full time in an accredited 2- or 4-year college or university
- Maximum of four years of awards made to any one student
- FAFSA eligible institution
Application Requirements
- Official transcript (high school for incoming freshmen; college transcript for current students)
- 2026 FAFSA
- 2025 federal and state tax returns (summary pages)
- 2026–27 official financial aid award letter
- Personal statement
- Recommendation (required for first-time applicants)

Important to Know
- Scholarships are needs-based
- Award amounts vary and are determined annually
- A new application must be submitted each year, even for renewal
- Applications are reviewed by a scholarship committee
- Funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, room and board, and other associated costs.
- The funds are awarded in two halves, pending receipt from the student of their official 2026-27 Award letter from their school.
- The JBBBS scholarship application is separate from the CJP Academic Scholarship application. Eligible students are welcome to apply for both programs, but carefully read the eligibility requirements for each, as they have key differences.

Please note that completing an application for a scholarship from JBBBS does not guarantee an award. You will be notified by JBBBS staff whether you will be receiving an award.

CJP Academic Scholarships (Administered by JBBBS)
JBBBS administers the CJP Academic Scholarship for eligible students in the Greater Boston community. This scholarship is separate from the JBBBS College Scholarship and has its own eligibility criteria and timeline.
Eligibility
- Open to eligible students in the geographic area served by CJP
- Undergraduate students enrolled full time in an accredited two- or four-year U.S.-based institutions
- All programs must be FAFSA eligible
- Limited funding for:
- Graduate students
- Vocational certificate programs
- International students
- Minimum 2.0 GPA required for all applicants, new or returning
- Maximum of four years of awards made to any one student
- Applicants are expected to have exhausted all other available financial resources including:
- College financial aid awards (grants and loans)
- Federal and state aid
- Other private scholarships

Important to Know
- The Fund is non-sectarian; primary consideration is given to Jewish students
- Awards are based first on financial need, then merit
- Applications are reviewed by the volunteer CJP Scholarship Committee
- First-time applicants will be interviewed
- Funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, room and board, and related expenses
- Awards are distributed in two payments, pending receipt from the student of their official 2026-27 Award letter from their school.
- This application is separate from the JBBBS College Scholarship. Eligible students may apply for both programs.
